We used this toothpaste for 6 months and in that time we both got cavities and increased sensitivity in our teeth. I went from perfect teeth at one dentist appt to having a cavity and sensitive teeth at my next appt 6 months later. This was the first cavity I've ever had and my dentist said she sees a lot of cavities popping up in people that use this product. I will never use it again! I went back to Colgate Total, which my dentist recommends.

3.0 颗星,最多 5 颗星 Great sensitivity protection but way too much marketing hype and product differentiation!

The active ingredient in this is fluoride, which unfortunately is also in our water supply and can contribute to major health issues elsewhere in the body. So, I use a lot of water with any fluoride toothpaste because maximum absorption into the bloodstream occurs under the tongue. And since I now brush many times a day due to Invisalign, I'm incorporating a couple other toothpastes into my routine as well that don't have fluoride.

Sensodyne does noticeably reduce sensitivity, which is why I've used it for many years. But when GSK acquired the Novartis product line in 2018, things changed big time. They dramatically intensified the approach to marketing and product line. What was once a modest selection is now bloated beyond belief.

It's an endless parade of Pronamel this and Pronamel that...a staggering array of product differentiation and combinations (among which the differences aren't usually even clear): Fresh Breath (spearmint), Fresh Mint (perhaps peppermint?), Multi-Action (what actions?), Rapid Relief (more sensitivity protection?), Complete (complete what?), Repair (really?), Repair and Protect (do some varieties not protect?), Daily Protection (as opposed to what, weekly?), Gentle Whitening (so, is whitening hard on enamel?), Whitening Repair and Protect (seriously?), Extra Whitening (or extra hype?), True White (bleach?), Deep Clean (abrasive?), etc. They crowd the shelves and confuse consumers. However, the ingredients stay relatively the same (though sometimes in a slightly different order). Why so many? All are for sensitive teeth, so how does one really decide? It's overwhelming, unnecessary, and absurd.

While distracting us with all this (pay no attention to the man behind the curtain), GSK continues to steadily raise its prices while shrinking tube size. So, we're paying more for less. And, how do you think they pay for their TV ads and sponsorships? Meanwhile, it seems like they're also watering down the product (to the point that the term "paste" isn't really apt anymore). In addition, they changed the tube design, and now the top is harder to remove plus getting the last bit out of the tube is nearly impossible.

And the one discontinued variety I know of is Sensodyne Original, the only toothpaste my partner likes because it doesn't have a strong minty flavor. He stocked up, but when he runs out, he'll have to go minty or switch brands. As for me, I haven't noticed any real difference among the Sensodyne varieties I've tried (Original, Complete, Fresh Breath, and a couple others). My dentist is still adamant about fluoride toothpaste, so I may try to find a brand with a less confusing product line and more stable pricing and quantities.

Teeth are teeth. Brushing and flossing habits as well as age, diet, genetics, and appropriate orthodontic care are the key factors in oral health. Do we really need a different sensitive teeth toothpaste for every conceivable scenario or that target ridiculously specific tooth issues?

I'm adding to my regimen Dr. Sheffield's (THE original toothpaste), which, by contrast, offers ONE simple option for sensitivity control. However, it doesn't contain fluoride; it uses potassium nitrate instead. And the one I'm currently trying, Coral foam (also fluoride free), comes in three flavors, is non-abrasive, requires no rinsing, and uses silver to fight bacteria (like people used in the pre-refrigeration days to help keep milk fresh). To keep my dentist happy, I'll likely continue using one of the Sensodyne products as well; maybe I'll pick by covering my eyes and pointing.

Perhaps GSK should have listened to their mother. Keep it simple. Less is more. Clean your room! Research has shown that simplicity makes the most meaningful impact. Apply old-school wisdom to new research, and remember that in the long run, streamlined and straightforward anything is usually best.

3.0 颗星,最多 5 颗星 Tube is an awful design

The toothpaste itself is great. Works well, nice taste, held with sensitivity, etc. But I hate the cap design! It catches whenever you screw it on, so that you have to forcefully twist it on. Additionally, the tube is thinner material and folds as you try to screw on the top, leaving for a messy, gross cap and tube. I may just switch toothpastes for the tube design alone, which is a shame because the toothpaste is very good.

This does not seem the same as the one I buy in the store. It looks the same but it isn't at all. My mouth feels tingly after using it and my tooth is killing me again so it's not working the same since it seems it isn't. I don't trust this product online. I'm only buying it in the store.
